We are honored to have two projects recognized at this year’s Interior Design Excellence Awards with First Place distinctions!
One of our favorite industry events, the Interior Design Excellence Awards are a collaborative event between ASID Virginia and IIDA VA/WV to recognize the best commercial and residential interior design across the state. From boutique hotels to vacation lake houses to educational spaces and more, the IDEAs celebrate the most beautiful, functional, and inspiring interior environments.

CATEGORY: RETAIL INTERIOR DESIGN
First Place – Gelati Celesti
The beloved ice cream shop’s first Hampton Roads location features a custom metal central scooping station and point of sale, helping to create an easy flow of traffic throughout the space. The line for ice cream strategically passes by the brand merch peg wall and take away item fridge, while the dining area stays connected to the staff on the left side of the scooping station.
Glass storefront connects a custom carved out patio section for enjoying cool treats on a warm day and brings in ample natural light. Playful brand colors, pops of neon, and blonde wood tones combine to anchor the Gelati Celesti brand perfectly in it’s Coastal home in Virginia Beach.

First Place – And Dim Sum
An immersive and experiential concept, And Dim Sum transports guests into a vibrant world of excitement and flavor. Find dim sum inspired curved elements in the booths, lighting, and wallpaper. Vibrant colors and bold patterns bring an adventurous spirit to the space, mimicking the excitement in the dim sum flavors.
Traditional influences in the materials and patterns are combined with modern details like neon, fringe, and vibrant colors to create a one of a kind, theatrical experience.
